yoga is the realisation of emptiness
yoga practice is an enquiry into the nature of action

enquiry depends upon
generosity, openness, sensitivity, honesty and focus
with regard to that which is actually happening

generosity supports openness
openness supports sensitivity
sensitivity supports honesty
honesty supports focus
focus supports generosity

that which is actually happening
happens through the agency of action
human actions can be of three kinds
applied, pure and natural

applied actions are directed to an external end
and focus on the result
enquiry into the nature of applied actions realises inevitability
elucidation of inevitability realises relaxation

pure actions are undertaken for themselves
and focus on the experience
enquiry into the nature of pure actions realises imperfectability
elucidation of imperfectability realises surrender

natural actions arise spontaneously
and point to their source
enquiry into the nature of natural actions realises impersonality
elucidation of impersonality realises freedom

pure actions arise directly from the source
applied and pure actions arise through the imposed sense of self

the imposed sense of self is the source of suffering
guilt, blame, and doubt
guilt realises pride, shame and fear
blame realises resentment, envy and hatred
doubt realises anxiety, hope, confusion and manipulation

the imposed sense of self results from identification
identification is the personalisation of action
actions are personalised when they are attributed to objects

enquiry into the nature of objects reveals their true nature
their apparent nature is formal, subtle and essential

the formal nature of objects is their distinctness
elucidation of distinctness realises interconnectedness
the subtle nature of objects is their interconnectedness
elucidation of interconnectedness realises nonseparateness
the essential nature of objects is their nonseparateness
elucidation of nonseparateness realises emptiness

the true nature of objects and actions is emptiness
the realisation of emptiness closes the subject object split
the realisation of emptiness is yoga
the realisation of yoga is freedom
freedom is the absence of identification

within identification actions are taken to partake of
the perfectability of possibility
and are taken to be personal
in the absence of identification
all objects and actions are surrendered
to their impersonal and imperfectable source

when action is surrendered to its source
everything appears as it is
the inevitable, imperfectable, impersonal
expression of totality
which is the true nature of the self
for which there is no other

realisation of the true nature of the self
elicits surrender
surrender is freedom
freedom is the fruit of yoga
yoga is the realisation of emptiness
