embered

you
leaning back before me
like an open book of poems
in an eloquent sacred tongue
whose rhyme and rhythm burst
in unsolicited orgasm

the vigour of your smile
betrays your silent sadness
my smile is lipped in tenderness
for the humble beauty of your youth
and mine
ignorance sheathed in innocence

i smile
not only for your generous lips
your acrobatic hands
but because in your wistful eyes i see
at times
the brilliant flashing of surprise
